You will leverage your deep expertise in COBOL to ensure the stability, reliability, and optimal performance of mission-critical applications. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based applications in alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts and fellow developers to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Conduct detailed code reviews and debugging to ensure high standards of quality and reliability.
• Identify and resolve issues within existing COBOL programs to improve performance and user experience.
• Document new and updated processes, workflows, and system changes clearly and accurately.
• Participate in team meetings, providing technical insights and project updates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within development processes and standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL development within enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in structured COBOL programming and debugging techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and system process documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach.
• Self-motivated with a high sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in mainframe environments and integrating legacy systems.
• Familiarity with industries such as financial services or insurance that rely on COBOL-based infrastructure.
• Knowledge of complementary technologies such as JCL, CICS, or DB2.
