Job Title: FreeCAD Expert (BIM & IFC Focus) Job Type: Contract Location: Remote

Job Summary

Join our customer’s team as a FreeCAD Expert specialized in BIM and IFC workflows. In this pivotal role, you will demonstrate your expertise by completing end-to-end parametric CAD projects while revealing your professional process and decision-making to help train next-generation AI systems. Your command of FreeCAD, combined with in-depth BIM and IFC knowledge, will directly influence how advanced technology understands engineering and design logic.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full parametric modeling projects in FreeCAD from concept through production-ready deliverables.
• Utilize BIM and IFC workflows to create, coordinate, and document building models (walls, slabs, structures, etc.).
• Import, export, and validate IFC data to ensure seamless interoperability with other CAD/BIM platforms.
• Develop and manage constrained sketches, parametric model trees, and building components throughout project lifecycles.
• Prepare detailed documentation sets, including technical drawings and model exports (STEP, STL, DXF, IFC).
• Clearly articulate modeling strategies, BIM structuring decisions, and interoperability considerations through written documentation and verbal recordings.
• Collaborate with technical teams to capture and communicate workflow rationale in support of AI learning objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in FreeCAD with a strong portfolio of complex, completed projects.
• Proven experience managing full parametric 3D CAD workflows in FreeCAD from concept to production.
• Deep practical knowledge of BIM methodologies and IFC standards, including relevant FreeCAD workbenches.
• Hands-on experience with building elements, model structuring, and interoperability-focused data management.
• Solid skills in AutoCAD, CAM, and other 3D CAD environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to technical documentation detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment while maintaining high professional and technical standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to the FreeCAD open-source community or developing custom add-ons.
• Background in AI, machine learning projects, or structured technical knowledge capture.
• Familiarity with workflows integrating FreeCAD with other BIM/CAD platforms.
